Angora wool is considered one of the most beautiful fashion fibers. We find it easy to spin carded, or just off the rabbit without any preparation. Sheared Angora fiber is no more difficult to spin than plucked fiber. One of our favorite things to do with their fiber is to dye it and run it into batts. Angora is a wonderful blending fiber, which is why we use it in most of our runs. Angora fiber blends for the handspinner are offered on our Celestial Studio site.
German angora rabbits are imported from Germany. They are known for their gentle dipositions, low maintance. and large quantity of fiber. Our Angoras as adults produce over a pound of each trimming (every 12 weeks).
Millennial Way offers three different grades of Angora, which are used for many purposes. You can find raw Angora available on our Celestial Studio site, as well as Local Harvest.
Prime (3"-4") is shorn off of the rabbits back. This fiber is the best of all the grades.
Blending (2 1/2"-3") is used for blending with other fibers. We use this grade in our roving and yarn blends.
Felting is used for spinning designer yarns (thick n' thin) or for felting projects.
